You'll probably want to remember this band's name, chances are you will be hearing alot more about them in times to come.
To have your first official release 'All The Way' produced by Grammy Award Winner Steve Orchard, whose track record includes working with the likes of Noel Gallagher, Travis & Paul McCartney bodes extremley well for the future.
Kobi is a Scottish Indie-Pop Rock act while they draw their inspiration from a massive range of musical sensibilities from the 80's up til now, these guys ultimately love to put it all into one format which just never ever grows tired.
Released on 22nd April 'All The Way' unselfconsciously aims high and they pull it off extremley well, their 80's influences are apparent and happily claimed, with refreshingly earnest vocals, epic guitar solos and unrestrained drumming, they are very much a modern-day band in essence it makes one want to see them live, their music is the type to get crowds madly excited about a new act.
Kobi are rapidly developing into a powerful proposition in the live environment and quickly building a strong following throughout the country.
Keen to consolidate a wide range of influences they are an artistically disparate outfit, inventive, experimental, interesting and very distinctive.
'All The Way' finds them in unashamed pop territory, drawing on a love of the 80's acts like The Cars, The Blue Nile, Aztec Camera as much as contemporary acts such as Foals & Arcade Fire, it's a single full of indie-pop energy & amazing hooks & passionate melodies it's one that reflects the band's extraordinarily diverse list of reference points & influences yet it's ultimately all about the band's shared love of the classic three minute pop song, frontman Gary Thain said 'The time is right for us to unleash this track, we've really embraced our pop sensation/pop sensibilities on this & have been blown away by the crowd's reaction when we debuted the song as part of our live set'.
The single has already started to bring in positive quotes such as 'This is a little bit lovely' - AltSounds, 'A Chorus you will be finding yourself singing to yourself over & over again' - Off The Radar Indie Music, 'One of the strongest pop/rock songs you've heard in years' - Highland News.
